Researcher visits and research requests
Researchers are welcome to study the large art, cultural-historical, natural science and archive collections in the Ostrobothnian Museum. The museum collections are available for the researchers by appointment. The museum expert services offered to the researchers include information retrieval and displaying of items or other materials and other services by separate agreement. Contacts through the curator responsible for the collections.
Outsiders are not allowed to visit the museum collection storage for security reasons.
The Ostrobothnian museum is in its research activity focusing primarily on the own collections and also in other ways on its own activities, among other things exhibitions and publications. The museum is not doing research or investigation ordered by an individual party.
Picture and document archives and reference library
The picture archives of the Ostrobothnian Museum has about 500 000 photos and a lot of other material. The material is available for outside researchers by appointment. The archives include also photos of items and works of art in the museum collections. A fee in accordance with the list of service charges is collected for the use of photos.

THE MUSEUM SHOP AND CAFÉ NOVA The museum’s publications, as well as literature and postcards, Ostrobothnian craft and design products are available for purchase at the museum shop. In the café there is a wide selection of coffees, as well as soft drinks, confectionary, cakes and pastries. The museum shop and Café Nova are open during the museum's opening hours.
